Avv. Alessandro Personi
Born in Viareggio in 1976, Alessandro studied at the Collegio Navale “F. Morosini” in Venice from where he went on to obtain a first class honours degree from Siena University in 2001. His thesis, on the freedom of cabotage services within the E.U., was prepared in collaboration with the European Commission and the Katholieke Universiteit of Leuven (Belgium), where he had already studied in the year 2000 under the Erasmus program. He trained first with Studio Legale Vincenzini and then with Studio Legale G. Vincenzini & Associati and took his bar examination in 2004. He became a partner in Vaudo Paggini & C. in 2011. Alessandro is the youngest partner in the firm and handles shipping, international commerce and customs law, with a particular preference for the preparation and negotiation of contracts (charter parties, integrated logistics, constructions, sale/purchase and financing of yachts and ships, EPC and tenders for property and services). He has acted as arbitration counsel (including in arbitrations governed by Uncitral and ICC rules) and has spoken at conferences on international commerce and the carriage of energy minerals as well as well as on contract law in respect of the building and sale/purchase of yachts and ships. He is a Member of the Italian Association of Maritime Law and of the International Propeller Club. Alessandro is a member of the Livorno bar and speaks Italian, English and Dutch and likes playing golf.
